Steph’s swuimsuit sketch
Cassandra Cain sketch on a swimsuit. I need to draw her more often.
Sorry about the title,
Right now i’m working on very personal projects. I’m uploading ashort story on my facebook account, and then, some guy sent me a message sayin: “What’s this cheap soap opera for?”
I ignored the rest of the message from this guy, who i must say, has become a pain in the ass. Everytime he talks to me, starts with something like “hey the other day this important person and me were talking about many projeects” “Important person and me were signing books at the comic convention” ” i have an editor and i’ll be publishing my graphic novel in US these months” “This girl is in love with me cause im so awesome and have green eyes” ” My brother earns tons of money, and i could earn that too, but i don’t want to” “That girl said she wanted oil painting lessons from me and i’m the envy of everyone” and stuff like that. He loves to talk about how “awesome” (LOL) is himself. I really don’t know him, he just appeared suddenly.
So, a few days he started to say these comments about my work: “hey i don’t understand your comic work”. I understand the critic, and i appreciate it. Some guy told me: “I don’t like your batgirl, she looks so fat” Well, sorry for not drawing girls like Rob Liefeld or Big boobed girls like Ramos or any other artist. I understand sometimes subjective critics are out there and you will have to face them, but sometimes people only say it because they want to. Just for that. So yesterday this guy says: What’s this cheap soap opera for? (referring to my short story, about a couple) and i will never answer to him, it’s just annoying.
I’ve received bad critics all the time. Like this guy, called Juanele, saying that my work is crap. In other hand, i have very good compliments about my work and i treasure that, because it means something i’m doing is ok.
I just want to draw comics and make art, that’s all. I’m not gonna change the world or being a millionaire. I’m a poor person, and i live by the day, but i’m sure i want to tell stories with my art, and when it comes to a persona nd likes it, well, it’s like winning the lotto, for me.
No one should EVER qualify the work of others as crap, or bad. Sure, i think some jokes are ok, when is about overrated work. But being mean just because you can, well, i think it’s not good.
One of the comics my dad used to bought me was Superman. It brings me good memories about my childhood. So, why not? Happy Birthday Superman.
I hope you can go over there and enjoy my work in facebook. I’ll appreciate it a lot! :)
Thanks for all the support and comments on the Batgirl comic. Thanks to Max and Aladdin because they were really patient with me and helpful. And the major credit goes for them ‘cause they made that minicomic look good.
